Imagine bright halls, a courtyard brimming with laughter, and inclusive classroom. This is not a fantasy, this is The Kalyani School, a place that every child loves. Walking through the halls of this very school for the first time after the pandemic, I was overjoyed to be received by a faculty of teachers and staff who truly cares. It’s not just about studies and grades at TKS, it’s about belonging. Each student is provided with the best academic resources, whether it’s worksheets or extra notes on the portal. However, TKS also manages to integrate extracurriculars in the students’ daily lives as well. Sports competitions, ranging from basketball and football to athletics, TKS has comprehensive sports facilities that help students realise their potential in the field of sports. As a member of the school football team, I was able to discover the fast paced and competitive world of sports through these very facilities. Literature and the arts are truly valued here. I was able to enhance my literary skills due to events such as the reading week held annually and my speaking skills have reached new heights due to events such as K-talk and IKMUN.
In this CBSE School, students are encouraged to take part in cultural events, such as Form Mornings and the annual Mad About events, which help in discovering new opportunities and develop various skills. TKS may have state of the art facilities but it is the people who make school feel like a second home – the students, the teachers and the staff all are part of The Kalyani School family. The teachers truly help students recognise their strengths and assist students with the simplest of doubts. Classroom discussions are intriguing and fruitful, students are allowed to voice their opinions and develop their own.
While TKS encourages creativity, it also ensures discipline. It is important to develop a certain set of values, especially during the school years which help us get ahead in life. From the simplest of namastes to following the uniform rules, we are able to hone a sense of discipline and uniformity in our school life.
