When I first joined The Kalyani CBSE School last year, I was a bit anxious-it was a new city, new people, and a completely different environment. But it didn't take long for me to feel at home and the school became my extended family. It’s the teachers here who make learning meaningful and not mechanical. The The teaching methodology in their education system focuses on understanding and curiosity rather than just memorizing lessons. It is because of this that I started enjoying subjects which I used to feel were difficult.
As soon as I entered the reception area I was swept away by the awards and accolades displayed and I felt immense pride. The sense of feeling I get to see such wonderful achievements by my school in multiple different fields is irreplaceable. I’ve also always felt that this schools result has always spoken louder than words. Thanks to the guidance and support from my teachers I was even able to score full in one of the board subjects!
Within a year, I have flourished beautifully in this school. I became a Prefect, did a number of dance and music events, participated in IK MUN and won multiple awards, all of which taught me about leadership and confidence, something no textbook could have ever done. The balance between studies and creativity here is great, and it’s something I really like.
The Kalyani School has also given me opportunities to work and collaborate with international programmes and organisations through which I’ve received scholarships and leadership awards.
Something I look forward to the most are the school afterschool clubs. As a part of the Book Club and the MUN club, it’s amazing to be around people with such common interests and being able to bond and expand my horizons in these topics thanks to the guidance of my mentors.
